Use this workspace to show field lines, move charges, test field strength, and sketch your own predictions.

Do: Toggle field lines and the drawing tool on or off. Drag charges, adjust charge strength, sketch field lines, and move the test charge.

Field lines show the direction a positive test charge would be pushed.
Lines leave positive charges and enter negative charges.
Closer field lines mean a stronger field.
Right-click and drag to erase parts of student-drawn lines.

How To Use

Drag charges to reshape the field.
Select a charge, then use the strength slider.
Drag the small test charge to compare force direction and field strength.
Turn on the student drawing tool to sketch your own field-line prediction.
Right-click and drag across a drawing to erase it.
